S POWER decentral stationary

The S-Power HITZINGER 400Hz static converter provides optimised voltage quality and superior security of supply using an innovative design concept that provides a ‘plug and play’ design. Using multiple power stacks to meet the required demand, our S-Power 400Hz static converter can support a power range from 45-225kVA via a single unit. This innovative design has made us the preferred choice for many aircraft manufactures, contractors and airport operators, looking to mitigate lengthy downtime and meet the highest availability to ensure business continuity. The de-centralised module is a fixed solution to locate alongside the apron and features a steel base pedestal fixed directly onto the floor.

In 2012, Hitzinger were awarded the Red Dot Design Award, providing the lowest MTTR of any 400Hz Static Converter and uses an ironless technology to provide a compact design. The S-Power unit further takes advantage of the patented ACON control panel, which features on all our new Diesel Driven GPU’s providing a common interface across the entire range of 400Hz power supplies.

Technical highlights

From installation and commissioning to continuous use, the S POWER is characterised by its reliability and ease of operation.

Highest efficiency
Thanks to the intelligent partitioning of the individual stacks and the way in which they are combined, the S POWER guarantees extremely high efficiency under partial and full load.

Optimised voltage quality
For optimum compensation of the voltage drop even under asymmetrical loading, the S POWER is equipped with line drop compensation (LDC) for each individual phase.

Maximum security of supply
The plug&play system of the stack technology enables simplified servicing of the individual stacks. Redundant operation is possible even if one of the stacks fails.

Optimum serviceability
With remote maintenance, all important operating states can be displayed and parameterised, and fans are regulated by temperature monitoring. Exact fault notifications help to reduce maintenance times and servicing effort.

Simplified user operation
The touchpanel of the control station offers intuitive user navigation. Easy to read even in strong sunlight, it is also dust- and water-tight and suitable for use in the most adverse airfield conditions. The resistive touchscreen is straightforward to use even when gloves are worn.
